THE PJS welcomes back to Perth one of the coolest drummers around. His eclectic musical career spans from his early Melbourne days as the original drummer for The Mixtures that enjoyed success with its most famous hits, ‘The Pushbike Song’ and ‘In the Summertime’ to working with many International and Australian artists.
Garry moved to Perth during the America’s Cup and was soon in demand. He worked with many American artists such as Sheila Jordan, the late US Jazz guitarist Emily Remmler, and blues legend Jimmy Witherspoon as well as Western Australian jazz groups including, Helen Matthews Quartet – touring Indonesia, ABCTV, The Riddum Shakers and the Dave Hole Band that included a European tour.
Recently Garry has returned to Perth from Queensland, after a thirteen year residence at the premium five star Cairns International Hotel. Now back in Perth to stay, Garry has wasted no time in putting together an amazing array of great musicians to feature his unique vocal style of jazz, blues and Latin Grooves – Mike Nelson, piano and keyboards, Pat Reale, guitar, and Robbie Pisano on bass. Welcome home Garry.
