THE VERY HIP quintet, Backlash, recently realigned its lineup prior to a very successful JAZZWA tour of the Geraldton region early this year - Daniel Hart (sax), Glyn MacDonald (pianist), Phil Waldron (bass), Peter Evans (drums) and Benn Hodgkin on trumpet.
This performance is a unique opportunity for PJS audiences to hear first hand, the repertoire Backlash will be taking into the studio in April and will feature new and existing original repertoire by several band members.
Backlash has highly talented individuals in its group whose tastes vary from the 1960s Blue-note ‘Soul Jazz’ including Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey as well as Cuban-latin music including Cubanismo, Poncho Sanchez and Chucho Valdes.
