SYDNEY'S international award winning jazz vocal group is coming to Perth for a one night only performance at the PJS. Weaving pure magic with just four voices, by the encore you'll have forgotten that's all the artists use!
The accolades keep coming for Australia's premier contemporary a cappella quartet. With a slew of awards both national and international, these four vocalists push the boundaries of what the human voice can do whilst they continue to astound and engage audiences across the globe with their warmth, humour and impeccable harmonies. The evening's performance will allow you to experience for yourself this `quartet of groovers who rescued instrument free singing from the 1980s' (Herald Sun).
The Idea Of North is regarded by peers and critics alike as a world class musical act. Their superb musicianship and outstanding arrangements embracing jazz, soul and gospel music, together with an amazing blend of their own award winning originals with traditional and contemporary songs, have marked them as an act not to be missed.
The group has appeared on stage with some of Australia's greatest jazz musicians, including James Morrison and Don Burrows, as well as in concert series and festivals alongside a number of international artists, including The New York Voices (USA) and The Flying Pickets (UK). They were also guest performers at a concert of Europe's jazz a cappella super group, The Real Group (Sweden). The Idea Of North frequently perform to their own sell out audiences around the world and also at corporate functions, festivals and large multi bill concerts, both on their own and in collaboration with other musicians, in Australia and many other countries around the world.
Every performance by The Idea Of North is of a very high standard, grounded by their exceptional level of musicianship. Needless to say, tonight's PJS performance should prove to be a truly unforgettable experience.
