Melbourne pianist Mark Fitzgibbon is currently based in Perth this year lecturing jazz piano at WAAPA .
He has worked with many of the great names in jazz over the years such as Ronnie Scott , Lee Konitz, Charles Mcpherson, Scott Hamilton, Dale Barlow, Bernie McGann as well as his own groups and accompanied diverse vocalists such as Claire Martin, Chris Mcnulty, Dave Graney, Mark Murphy and Barbara Morrison .
His playing is characterised by a lot of influences from straight ahead bop jazz and to free stuff and indie rock he will be performing some original music, blues and bop influenced pieces
