AGAIN, in 2009, WAAPA students
excel.
Come down and enjoy their talents in four outstanding ensembles, comprising current students from all years of the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts jazz music programme. They form a Latin Jazz ensemble, Jazz
Vocal group, Mingus Music ensemble and a band that pays tribute to Art Blakey's legendary Jazz Messengers.
Jazz Futures is a showcase for some of Australia's brightest musicians emerging from the jazz course at WAAPA.
Fans of the Jazz Messengers, Charles Mingus and Latin music in general can look forward to hearing some of the
defining tunes from these genres.
The Society encourages all members to be there for an early preview of the musicians who will most probably be entertaining us for years to come.
