Two trios - or a sextet?
SIMON Jeans and Daniel Susnjar's ongoing collaboration (.....mumblefunk) has been evolving since 2001, with drums and guitar at the core of the ensemble. Past performances as a duo featured originals and free improvisation. Occasionally the pair brings in other musicians to augment the unit.

Their PJS show will use guitar/tenor/drums trio times two. There will be a doubling of left-hand driven guitars - Simon and fellow left-hander Tim Jago. Master tenor saxophonists Carl Mackey and Jamie Oehlers are the reed pairing, and on drums Daniel will be joined by rising star Sean Phillips. Although a range of new music has been conceived for this event, the night will also feature a healthy dose of spontaneous composition (with perhaps some interpretations of earlier originals and old favourites thrown in for good measure).
