TAL Cohen began studying piano at the age of 10 playing Jewish folk songs and classical music at local venues. Leaving Israel at the age of 16 he received a music scholarship to Churchlands senior high school in WA. He then moved on to WAAPA to study the art of jazz and is currently completing his masters degree under the direction of Jamie Oehlers.

His music is influenced by modern classical music, traditional Jewish folk music, and jazz. With Tal for tonight's show are Callum G'Froerer on trumpet, Pete Jeavons on bass and drummer Pete Evans.
