WAAPA student Marc Osborne isn't waiting around to complete his degree before ‘getting out amongst it’. To date he’s played with Perth Jazz Orchestra and the
MFO – as well as his own quartet at The Scotsman and a trio at a local restaurant.
For this PJS appearance his saxophone talents are showcased with the Russell Holmes Trio to present a programme of Marc’s own writings and some standards
which reflect his influences. Bill Evans’ Waltz for Debby and Gloria’s Step; Fee-FiFo-Fum by Wayne Shorter, and Windows (Chick Corea) are on the playlist.
Marc declares other major influences as Ornette Coleman and Miles Davis.
You might well have seen Marc at PJS early last year when he appeared with like-minded and talented WAAPA students.
Line-up: Marc, mostly tenor, Russell Holmes (piano), Matt Willis (bass) and Mike Perkins (drums).
