JAZZAZIZ has been one of JAZZWA’s core projects since 2001 when it was founded by current Project Manager Pete Jeavons and the late, great Alan Corbet (JAZZWA). The project was created as a vehicle to document original contemporary jazz composed and performed by WA jazz musicians and promote that music locally, nationally and internationally to draw attention to the quality and diversity of contemporary jazz music coming out of WA. ‘JAZZAZIZ - Volume Four’ consists of 10 original tracks composed by various WA jazz artists include Johannes Luebbers, Troy Roberts, Tim Jago and Vanessa Perica to name a few. The album is made up of some tracks from existing jazz albums and some that are new recordings not previously released. The 10 tracks span a wide variety of contemporary jazz styles and offer a snapshot of the Western Australian jazz scene as it is today – very much alive and constantly evolving. To celebrate the release of this CD album, JAZZWA - in partnership with The Perth Jazz Society- is presenting a JAZZAZIZ showcase on Monday 1 June at The Charles Hotel which will feature a number of groups and artists from volume 4. Performing on the night will be The Chris Foster Trio, Troy Roberts, The Johannes Luebbers Dectet and latin-jazz outfit Descarga so it promises to be a great night of quality music. In addition to the fantastic line-up on offer, the first 200* people to pay for entry will receive a copy of the CD album ‘JAZZAZIZ - Volume Four’ absolutely FREE!
