
The aim of the Perth Jazz Society is to further the interest in and appreciation of jazz, to encourage and assist in the live performance of jazz, and to promote the knowledge of jazz through specific development projects. This evening is a concert hosted by the Perth Jazz Society for the Western Australian Music Industry Association (WAMi) and will feature artists selected by WAM as representatives of the Jazz Industry in the 2009 Awards. BORROWED BLUE, a quartet led by Johannes Luebbers (keyboard) and featuring Callum G’Froerer (trumpet), Brett Thompson (guitar), Ben Falle (drums) with a guest appearance by Callum Moncrieff (vibraphone). New, young musos blended with established jazz talent from Western Australia, with the emphasis on original repertoire. The WAMi Festival is in it’s 18th year of celebrating original contemporary music throughout Perth and regional WA.
