Admission Members $15 PJS Student Members $8 Concessions $18 Guests $22

Veteran alto sax man Lew Smith brings together a quartet of young gun players and a sultry jazz diva to help him celebrate Australia Day in style!

Lew Smith is well known to PJS audiences, having been a regular guest at the Society since his arrival in Western Australia back in 1974.

Lew has played alongside such diverse artists as Wild Bill Davison (cornet), Louis Stewart (guitar) and Richie Cole (alto sax).

Lew’s performances with his wife, the fabulous June Smith (vocals), are always highly anticipated and together the pair has performed tributes to Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Charlie Parker for the Perth Jazz Society.

Tonight Lew performs a programme of swinging standards, enduring ballads and moody blues with the charming and sophisticated Ali Bodycoat (vocals), 2008 James Morrison Scholarship winner Konrad Paszkudski (piano), 2008 WAYJO Soloist Award winner Brett Smith (tenor sax), and recent WAAPA grads Mark Early (bass) and Ben Falle (drums).

Please note Concert starts at 5pm because of the Australia Day public holiday. Doors open 4pm.
